SINGAPORE SCHOLARSHIP INVITATION FOR APPLICATIONS ACADEMIC YEAR 2009/2010

The Singapore Government awards the scholarship to Government-endorsed students from the other member countries of the ASEAN. Each Scholarship is for a full-time undergraduate degree course at the Nanyang Technological University, the National University of Singapore and the Singapore Management University. All disciplines except for Medicine and Dentistry are open to Scholars. The duration of each scholarships is for three or four years, depending on the discipline.

The Scholarship Programme is to assist students in completing their higher education goals. Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) provides scholarships for students through funds received from private donors and MEDIU’s general funds.

In principal, scholarships will be awarded to students who are academically excellent but lack the financial resources to study at MEDIU.

Types of scholarship offered

MEDIU is currently offering full scholarships for students studying full-time (with a workload of 15 to 18 credit hours per regular semester) in the Bachelor of Islamic Sciences(Hons) and the Bachelor of Languages (Hons) in Arabic language and Literature. MEDIU may be offering partial scholarships for future intakes.

The ASEAN Scholarships aim to provide opportunities to the young people of ASEAN to develop their potential and equip them with skills that will enable them to confidently step into the new millennium.

The ASEAN Scholarships for Indonesia is tenable for 4 years leading to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced’ (GCE ‘A’) Level (or equivalent) certificate.

The Scholarship is for studies in selected Singapore schools from Secondary Three to Pre-University Two and is renewed annually, subject to the satisfactory performance of the scholar.

APPLICATION FOR ASEAN GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP &
ADMISSION TO MASTERS PROGRAMME BY COURSEWORK
ACADEMIC YEAR 2007-2008 [AUG 2007]

Eligibility

1. Only nationals (citizens or permanent residents) of a member
country of ASEAN (except Singapore) may apply. Citizens and permanent
residents of Singapore are not eligible to apply.

2. Applicants should have :

(a) an excellent academic record;
(b) a very good command of the English language;
(c) at least 2 years of working experience; and
(d) an acceptable GMAT score (applicable only to applicants of
programmes indicated in paragraph 8 below).

The Asia Research Institute of NUS invites applications from ASEAN citizens enrolled for a fulltime advanced degree at a university in an ASEAN country (except Singapore) for consideration as ASEAN Research Scholars. These fellowships are offered to current graduate students working in the Humanities and Social Sciences on Asian topics , and will allow the recipients to be based at NUS for an 'in residence fellowship' for a period of three months. The aim of the fellowship is to enable scholars to make
full use of the wide range of resources held in the libraries of NUS and the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies. Scholars will be expected to commence on 1 May 2008, and to make a presentation on their work at the Singapore Graduate Forum on Southeast Asian Studies at the end of July 2008.
