Within the Marie Curie Research Training Network WEMESURF we are offering 12 PhD for a periode of 3 years and 11 postdoctoral positions for a periode of 1 year to work on characterisation of wear mechanisms and surface functionality with regard to life time prediction and quality criteria - from micro to the nano range.
The fellows are expected to participate in integrative research projects applying a variety of methodologies such as AFM, XPS, ICP-OES, AES, FT-IR, TOF-SIMS, SEM stereo technique, Raman spectroscopy, interferometrical methods, confocal white light microscopy and numerous tribological test methods. Thus, the fellows will receive comprehensive training in a variety of research areas relevant to modern tribology, surface characterisation and material analysis.
Due to the aspired mobility within the training network the fellows will be expected to apply at hosts other than their own nationality. Additionally the fellows may travel between some of the host institutions in order to profit from the expertise provided by each host group.
Canditates shall hold a diploma giving access to doctoral studies (the degree must entitle the holder to embark on doctoral studies, without having to acquire any further qualifications) in the country in which the diploma was obtained.
