The Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Leeds is one of the largest groups of life-science researchers within the UK, and offers superb facilities and a high quality research training environment for all areas including agriculture, animal and plant sciences, biochemistry and molecular biology, bioinformatics, ecology and evolution, genetics, immunology, microbiology, neurosciences, pharmacology and physiology, and structural molecular biology.

The Faculty of Biological Sciences offers a number of scholarships for students who are both resident and currently being educated in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia or Brunei (Nationals of Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia or Brunei paying full overseas fees but resident outside of their home country may apply for the Faculty of Biological Sciences International Scholarships Scheme). The schemes are open to new undergraduate students who commence a programme of study within the Faculty in September 2008.

Scholarships up to the full tuition fee (£17,500) and half fee scholarships (£8,750) are available for highly motivated, self-funded British and European candidates who want to study full-time in 2008/09.

Executive MBA Programme

The School will also award a full scholarship (£17,500) to a part-time candidate who wants to begin the Executive MBA programme in 2008/09.

When awarding the above scholarships we will be looking for evidence of exceptional leadership qualities demonstrated by your business and managerial experience, and how these, together with your interpersonal skills, can be used to enhance learning and group work on the Nottingham MBA.

The Aberdeen Business School is able to offer a limited number of scholarships to assist exceptionally able students who wish to undertake its International MBA programme on a full-time or online basis.

Full-time MBA
Scholarships range from ‘Full’ fee Scholarships to ‘Overseas’ Scholarships. The numbers of Scholarships awarded varies from region to region.

Online MBA (eMBA)
Scholarships range from £500 to £3,000 and are open to all applicants.

The scholarships take the form of a reduction in the normal tuition fees by a specified amount. Successful applicants will be responsible for paying the balance of their tuition fees, and for all their other travel and living expenses.

Research Postgraduate Scholarships for International Students Session 2008/09 University of Leeds International Research Scholarships.

The University of Leeds is pleased to offer up to five full and up to three partial Maintenance Scholarships to successful applicants in the 2008 Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme (ORSAS) Competition. The Scholarships may be held for up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

The ESRC-funded Centre for Economic Learning and Social Evolution (ELSE) is an interdisciplinary research centre at UCL focusing on issues of common interest to economists and psychologists. In the Economics Department, ELSE researchers work on economic theory, experimental economics and applied economics.

One scholarship of £9,000 (or two part-scholarships of £4,500 each) available for prospective MPhil/PhD students in the Department of Economics planning to work on topics of interest to the ELSE centre, who are not already receiving full fee and maintenance support from other sources. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, and are normally tenable for one year only.

The University of Kent has established a studentship fund of £1.5M to
support research students. This fund allows the University to provide
support for more than 100 students in any one year.

Applications are invited for University-funded Studentships for the academic
year 2007-08. These Studentships will cover tuition fees at the Home/EU rate
and, depending on the terms and conditions of the award, a maintenance grant
up to the full Research Council rate of *£12,600* per annum.
