Mathematics and Statisitics PhD Studentships
at the University of Kent for September 2007
Applications are invited for two PhD Studentships for the academic year
2007/08. These Studentships cover tuition fees at the Home/EU rate and a
stipend at the basic Research Council rate, which is currently 12,600
pounds per annum. The studentships are for three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress. Recipients of these studentships may be required to do some teaching as part of the terms of the studentship.
The studentships are open to candidates applying to the PhD programme in Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Pure Mathematics. Applicants must have a good Honours degree (either first or upper second class) or a Masters degree, in a relevant subject. Please indicate in your PhD application that you wish to be considered for available studentships.
It is not necessary to provide a detailed research proposal but applications should include a research topic. Please consult the IMSAS web pages to review the research interests of staff members. Applicants are encouraged to contact staff regarding research topics.
