BRUNEI DARUSSALAM GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS TO FOREIGN STUDENTS TENABLE IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM FOR THE 2010/2011 ACADEMIC SESSION
With His Majesty`s consent, the Government of Brunei Darussalam is offering annual scholarships under a special scholarship award scheme, commencing in 2010/2011 academic session. The scholarships are offered for Bachelors, Masters, and Phd Degree Program.

Tenable in Brunei Darussalam, the aim of the Scholarship awards is to provide students, with the opportunity to study at Universiti Brunei Darussalam [UBD], Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali [UNISSA] and Institut Teknologi Brunei [ITB]. The academic year for UBD, UNISSA and ITB commences in July / August 2010.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam Doctoral Scholarships Programme 2009/2010

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) is once again offering its prestigious Doctoral Scholarships Programme (UBD DSP) to enhance UBD`s ability to attract academically outstanding international PhD scholars, as part of its efforts to make the university a regional and international centre of excellence in research and higher education.

The UBD Doctoral Scholarships Programme is designed to attract world class doctoral students who are able to show a very high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the natural sciences, health sciences, social sciences, business and economics, Malay/Brunei studies, language skills and communication, and education, by offering students financial assistance during their doctoral studies.

2. Must possess good programming skill in Fortran and have experience with LINUX OS.

What is Special Scholarship Program (SSP)?
Special Scholarship Program (SSP) was established in 2003 in order to support the advanced research of the university by enlisting the help of highly capable international students. Every year in April and October, the university enrolls selected foreign doctoral students under specific research projects. The students pursue the doctoral course in English while at the same time assisting their host professor as a research assistant (RA). The Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM) in Linz is looking for 1 PhD student in the field of the optimal control and optimisation. This position is part of the FWF (Austrian Science Fund) project "Numerical verification of optimality and optimality conditions for optimal control problems".

Requirements:
A master`s degree in (applied) mathematics or a closely related field is required. The successful candidate should have an excellent background in applied mathematics, optimization, partial differential equations, and their numerics. Programming skills are desirable.
